Almost half a million rubles were recovered from DUK in favor of a pensioner.

      The court bailiffs helped a 71-year-old woman recover property damage compensation and moral damages after her apartment was flooded due to the poor condition of the roof of the building. Due to a malfunction of the roofing of one of the residential buildings in Nizhny Novgorod, the pensioner’s apartment was flooded. The woman submitted a claim to the management company for compensation for the damages caused but was denied. As a result, the citizen was forced to contact an expert organization to determine the cost of restorative repairs to her apartment, and then filed a lawsuit seeking reimbursement for the damages. Following the lawsuit, the court ordered the management company to pay the pensioner the value of the property damage caused by the flooding, moral damages, a fine for failing to voluntarily satisfy the citizen’s claims, as well as expenses for the examination and legal services. The enforcement document for the recovery of 474,000 rubles from the management company in favor of the woman was received by the Nizhny Novgorod district bailiff department of the Federal Bailiffs Service of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region. The management company failed to comply with the court’s requirement in a timely manner, resulting in an enforcement officer collecting a enforcement fee of 33,000 rubles from the organization. The bailiff also issued a notice of seizure of the debtor’s funds. Consequently, funds were forcibly withdrawn from the management company’s account in favor of the pensioner.
