The traffic police remind young parents of the rules for transporting infants in the car interior.

      As part of the informational and preventive event "Summer – It's a Little Life!", police officers conducted educational sessions at the regional perinatal center in Nizhny Novgorod and in pediatric clinics throughout the region to inform young parents about safe transportation of young children in a car salon.

      Traveling in a car always involves certain risks. For infants, a car trip is twice as dangerous: newborns have very fragile musculature, which is why it is important to use an infant car seat when transporting a newborn.

      To draw the attention of young parents to the issue of child road safety, traffic police officers in Nizhny Novgorod explained the rules for safe transportation of children in personal vehicles using brochures and leaflets.

      For young road users, the primary and most effective means of protection from injuries in traffic accidents in a car is a child restraint system, designed taking into account all features of a child's body, selected individually by height and weight, and properly installed in the car.

      Traffic regulations mandate that drivers use special restraint devices when transporting children from the first day of life until they reach 12 years of age. It should be remembered that until a child turns 1 year old and weighs less than 10 kg, a rear-facing child seat must be used for transportation.
