Recall that, by presidential order of Vladimir Putin, a network of modern campuses is being established in Russia. By 2030, the country is to have a constellation of 25 campuses. One has already been fully constructed in Moscow at the N.E. Bauman Moscow State Technical University. Currently, under the support of the national "Youth and Children" project, 24 such student towns are being designed and built. By 2036, the number of campuses will increase to 40. The campus concepts involve creating a unique and comprehensive environment for individual and team development, with numerous open educational spaces and transformable classrooms. This will help shape a unified corporate culture among teachers, students, and researchers. The project's financing is from federal and regional budgets, as well as extrabudgetary sources. The work in this direction is led by the Government of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Education and Science Russia.
A total of two application rounds for campus creation have been conducted, resulting in 17 selected projects (8 in 2021 and 9 in 2022). An additional 8 projects have been designated through separate presidential directives. They will be implemented in Zabaykalsky Krai, Kamchatka Krai, Primorsky Krai, Murmansk and Smolensk regions, the Republic of Buryatia, and two projects in Moscow based at the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MSUCE) and Moscow State Technological University "Stankin."
