The BRICS Skate Cup brought together nearly a thousand athletes from 27 countries.

      September 1, 2026 13:16 Sports The second International Festival of Street Culture and Sports BRICS Skate Cup 2026 (18+) has concluded in Ryazan. From August 27 to 30, it brought together 987 athletes from 20 regions of Russia and 27 countries. Participants included representatives from all 10 BRICS countries, as well as Argentina, Bahrain, Indonesia, Yemen, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Madagascar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and other states. The festival was the first international event of the Skateboarding and Roller Sports Federation of Russia after the return of the Russian national team's flag and anthem by the International Skateboarding and Roller Sports Federation World Skate. In the international skateboarding competition in the Skateboarding Street discipline, Argentine Matias Del Olio won first place. Second place went to Jarudech Sedeao from Thailand, and third place was taken by Russian Semen Kutuzov. In roller sports in the "Freestyle Speed Slalom" among women 19+, first place was won by Anna Kukushkina from the Samara region, and among men - Timofey Shilov from the Yaroslavl region. Kukushkina also took first place in the women's "Freestyle Slide." The winner among men was St. Petersburg's Konstantin Khomenko. In the junior "Freestyle Slalom," the best were representatives from St. Petersburg, Margarita Komarovskaya and Roman Shchapov. The winner of the Open Championship of Russia in scootering in the "Street" discipline was Roman Malyushko from the Novosibirsk region. In addition to the sports part, the BRICS Skate Cup featured a cultural and business program. Participants discussed the role of street sports on the world stage and the influence of street culture on urban development. The discussions included World Skate Games 2024 director Marco Mazzi, contemporary and street art activist and publisher of Street Art News Rom Levi, and other experts. The governor of the Ryazan region, Pavel Malkov, noted that street sports actively engage youth. According to him, the festival should inspire them to new achievements. He also stated that next year the region will again host an international event for street sports. The president of the Skateboarding and Roller Sports Federation of Russia, Ilya Vdovin, emphasized that the BRICS Skate Cup united athletes from all over the world. The number of participants turned out to be twice as many as expected, and the festival received thousands of publications and millions of reach. Anna Kukushkina called the BRICS Skate Cup one of the most significant tournaments for her this year.
