More than three thousand first-graders in Nizhny Novgorod received support before school.
On August 31, 2026, at 17:50 Society In the Ministry of Social Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the results of the traditional charity campaign "Back to School" were summarized. This year, it took place in the region for the 12th time. As a result, more than three thousand first-graders received support and were able to better prepare for Knowledge Day.
The campaign aims to support families with children and strengthen family values in the region. This is one of the most important areas of work within the framework of the national project "Family."
Representatives of various government structures, the business community, and local residents purchased and donated school supplies to the families of first-graders. Children from large, single-parent, low-income families, families in difficult life situations, families of participants in the Special Military Operation, as well as children from social institutions received backpacks, stationery, clothing, and shoes as gifts.
"Nizhny Novgorod Region is known for its responsiveness. And the 'Back to School' campaign is the best proof of that. Thousands of people, dozens of organizations, one common goal - so that every first-grader feels supported. This is the true strength of our region. Thank you to everyone who does good for the sake of children!" said Igor Sedykh, the Minister of Social Development and Family Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, thanking the participants of the campaign.
As reported by the ministry, thematic events took place in all municipalities of the region as part of the campaign. They were prepared by specialists from comprehensive social service centers, social rehabilitation, and multi-profile family centers.
For example, the comprehensive social service center "Myza" organized a trip for children from the Prioksky district of Nizhny Novgorod to a family entertainment center: the kids enjoyed fun contests, quizzes, and trampoline jumping.
A celebration for 60 children from large and low-income families was also held by the staff of the comprehensive social service center of the Kanavinsky district of Nizhny Novgorod. The program included children's games, a creative workshop, a giant soap bubble show, a disco with cartoon characters, and other entertainment.
In the Sosnovsky district, the event was organized by social protection institutions with the support of the women's council of the municipality. Children molded letters from plasticine, solved math problems in a speed lesson, and participated in relays.
In the Navashinsky municipal district, a sports team tournament "Festival of Small Victories" took place. It will help schoolchildren feel better in peer groups.
The Ministry of Social Policy of the region reminded that the "Back to School" campaign also includes training and consultations for adults, including seminars on school adaptation for first-graders' parents. For example, on the eve of Knowledge Day, individual sessions on logorhythmics, psychology, and speech therapy were held for first-graders at the comprehensive social service center of the Knyagininsky municipal district with the support of specialists from the ANO SRC "kRASki."
In total, about 100 thematic events and festive programs were organized by social institutions in the region as part of the annual charity campaign.
Let us remind you that the national project "Family" is being implemented on the instructions of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. It includes activities aimed at the comprehensive development of families: expanding support measures, creating conditions for active longevity of the older generation, and ensuring quality and accessible medical care. It includes seven federal projects: "Family Support," "Family Values," "Culture for the Family," "Pushkin Card," "Older Generation," "Protection of Motherhood and Childhood," and "Large Family."
