Drones with AI, robots, and military developments of the participants of the special military operation were showcased in Mulino.

      On August 28, 2026, at 18:12, Society presented the latest drones, supply robots, military equipment, and training simulators for air defense units during a tactical-special exercise in Mulino, Nizhny Novgorod region. The Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, observed the developments and the training of military personnel, reports "KP - Nizhny Novgorod."

      The main part of the event was an exhibition within the framework of the "Innovators of the Armed Forces 2026" competition. All the presented developments were created by participants of the Special Military Operation (SMO), many of which were developed directly based on the experience and needs of soldiers in the operational zone.

      A total of 62 inventions were showcased at the exhibition, 30 of which have already successfully passed testing. Among the innovations are vehicles for movement in the SMO zone, robots capable of delivering cargo, equipment, and a large number of unmanned systems. Some drones can operate according to a pre-set scenario with minimal human involvement. Certain models utilize artificial intelligence, and the devices can learn and improve their functions.

      Such drones can be used for various tasks: reconnaissance, cargo delivery, mining, and intercepting enemy drones.

      "These are the developments created by the soldiers and officers themselves in the troops, in various units, including in the SMO zone. Everything presented at the exhibition is already in the troops and is being used at the line of combat contact," said Yunus-Bek Yevkurov.

      According to him, the technology is being developed right in the operational zone. Special sites are equipped there, and the necessary conditions are created.

      Another advantage of such solutions is their relatively simple and inexpensive production, without long waits for component deliveries. As an example, Yevkurov cited buggies assembled from parts of old civilian cars.

      Developments that have successfully passed testing can be transferred to defense industry enterprises, where it is planned to launch serial production based on them and create more advanced models of technology.

      In Mulino, they also demonstrated how military personnel are trained. Yevkurov visited training classrooms and the center for training fighters and commanders. Before going to the training ground, military personnel practice various elements on computer simulators. The center has simulators for weapons, tanks, and air defense systems that help master the technology and learn to counter drones.

      After that, the deputy minister attended a tactical-special exercise with a drone systems company, mobile fire group calculations, and assault units. One of the most spectacular parts was the demonstration of a tank machine gun and an interceptor drone. The drone is capable of reaching speeds of over 250 km/h and catching up with enemy UAVs.

      At the same time, Yevkurov noted that even the most modern technologies do not guarantee results by themselves. A significant role is played by how well-prepared the people working with the technology are.

      "We are enhancing all this in combination with the weapons themselves, elements of artificial intelligence, night vision devices, sights, and target designators. But the most important thing is the human factor, the training of the crews and calculations for this work," emphasized the deputy minister of defense.
