The Deputy Head of the Ministry of Defense checked the readiness of drone troops in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On August 28, 2026, at 13:50, the Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, checked the preparation of unmanned systems units at the training ground in the Nizhny Novgorod region, TASS reports.

      Military personnel practiced the use of FPV interceptors capable of speeds exceeding 200 kilometers per hour. Tactical-special exercises took place at the base of the Combat Training Center. They involved crews of unmanned systems, mobile fire groups, and soldiers from assault units.

      According to Yevkurov, the work of mobile fire groups at training grounds is being improved taking into account the tactical and technical characteristics of the enemy's air attack means. Special attention is given to the training of units using FPV interceptors.

      The Deputy Minister reported that such devices are already being used to intercept aerial targets at speeds of 200 km/h and above.
