More than 95 thousand people have touched the hand of Spyridon in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On August 28, 2026, 10:16 AM, Society: 95.6 thousand people venerated the right hand of Saint Spyridon of Trimythous during the relic's stay in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported by the press service of the Nizhny Novgorod Metropolis.

      The relic was in the region for three days and during this time gathered a huge number of pilgrims. Most of the faithful came to venerate the relic in Nizhny Novgorod. In the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, where the ark was located for two days, 70.6 thousand people approached it. Another group of pilgrims visited the relic at the Holy Trinity Seraphimo-Diveevo Convent.

      On August 27, a solemn farewell to the ark took place at the cathedral on the Arrow. The service was led by Metropolitan Georgy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas. Along with him prayed the vicar bishops of the diocese, clergy, parishioners, and pilgrims. The chairman of the LDPR, head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky, was also present at the service.

      The ark with the right hand is accompanied by a Greek delegation from the island of Corfu, where the relic of the saint is permanently kept. The delegation is headed by Archimandrite Hilarion, a cleric of the Corfu Metropolis of the Greek Orthodox Church.

      According to the metropolis, the relic will be in Russia until September 20 and will visit several more cities, including Pskov, Smolensk, Irkutsk, Khabarovsk, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, Vladimir, and Moscow.
