Nizhny Novgorod's support measures for the IT industry were discussed with companies from 12 regions.

      On August 25, 2026, at 18:56, Economy Nizhny Novgorod specialists informed colleagues from other regions about the support measures available to IT companies in the area. An open webinar was conducted by specialists from the ANO "Gorky Tech" with the support of the regional Ministry of Digital Development.

      Employees from 40 organizations across 12 regions joined the meeting. Among them were leaders of IT companies, lawyers, financiers, HR specialists, and professionals in interaction with government structures.

      Participants included representatives from Belgorod, Volgograd, Kirov, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Rostov, and Tomsk regions, Udmurtia, Tatarstan, Moscow, and St. Petersburg.

      The development of the domestic IT industry is part of the national project "Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State," which is being implemented at the request of President Vladimir Putin.

      The Minister of Digital Development and Communications of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Alexander Sinelobov, noted that regional support measures for the IT sector have been among the best in Russia for several years. At the same time, the region continues to refine them based on the requests of companies.

      One of the main measures is the compensation of personal income tax (PIT) for employees who moved to the Nizhny Novgorod region. Thanks to this program, the region has already attracted more than 1,800 specialists, and companies have received about 50 million rubles in payments.

      This measure sparked particular interest during the webinar. Companies can reclaim 100% of the PIT for an IT specialist who moved to the Nizhny Novgorod region. If a specialist works for a Nizhny Novgorod company remotely from another region, 50% of the PIT can be compensated.

      Another 20% of the PIT can be compensated for attracting non-core employees of IT companies, such as accountants and lawyers. Reimbursement can be received over five years.

      The director of ANO "Gorky Tech," Roman Renzin, explained that the organization's specialists first determine what support the company needs and then select appropriate measures. "Gorky Tech" accompanies businesses from the first inquiry to receiving benefits and preferences.

      According to Renzin, the organization is also interested in attracting IT companies from other Russian regions.

      The webinar discussed IT accreditation, FSI grant competitions, Skolkovo Fund benefits, and support from the Internet Initiatives Development Fund. Additionally, participants were informed about the register of IT startups, the preferential rate for simplified taxation for software developers, the IT marketplace, the "Gorky.Accelerator" program, investment tax deductions for telecommunications operators, benefits for data centers, and a chatbot with AI regarding support measures.

      It is worth noting that against the backdrop of the existing measures, the turnover of IT companies in the region is also growing. In the first half of 2026, it increased by 22.4% compared to the same period last year, exceeding 44 billion rubles.
