The work was carried out under the national project "Infrastructure for Life," reported the GUAD of the Nizhny Novgorod region. This stretch of road was previously considered accident-prone. Last year alone, five traffic accidents occurred here, including vehicles going off the road and crossing into oncoming traffic. To make traffic safer, 144 impulse signs with LED backlighting were installed in the area. For this, 77 new posts were set up. The signs appeared in four sections with a total length of about 1.4 km - where the road makes difficult turns. Now such signs are visible not only in the headlights but also due to their own backlighting. As specialists explain, the impulse mode works particularly well at night and with oncoming traffic. Visibility is at least 100 meters, giving drivers time to slow down in advance before a dangerous area. More than 2.5 km of cable lines were laid for the installation of the signs. Some of them were made using horizontal directional drilling to avoid breaking the road surface. The cost of the work amounted to 4.8 million rubles. As reported by Kirill Shevyakov, head of the operation department of the State Budgetary Institution of Nizhny Novgorod "GUAD," this is part of a systematic effort to improve safety on regional highways. According to him, this year, more than 7,000 new road signs are planned to be installed in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The national project "Infrastructure for Life" was initiated by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. It aims to develop modern infrastructure and includes 12 federal projects, including in the areas of road construction, housing and communal services, road safety, and public transport.
