Nizhny Novgorod was fined for publishing data about the location of the UAV crash.

      On August 18, 2026, 16:43 Incidents A Nizhny Novgorod woman was fined for disseminating information about the crash site of a drone in the region. As reported by the Ministry of Regional Security, the woman published a video and text indicating the location of the UAV crash. Thus, she violated the requirements of the Operational Headquarters protocol of the Nizhny Novgorod region. The magistrate of the Kstovo judicial district held her administratively liable under paragraph 2.26 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Nizhny Novgorod region. She was fined 3,000 rubles. The ruling has already come into legal force. The ministry reminded that starting in 2024, it is prohibited to disseminate in the media, on the internet, on television, as well as in publications by private individuals, photos, videos, and other information about military infrastructure and critically important facilities, if they allow determining the location, establishing the fact of damage, or assessing the nature of the damage. Furthermore, it is prohibited to publish information about shelling locations and UAV crash sites, as well as information about the use of weapons, air defense systems, electronic warfare, drones, and other means of destruction, if they allow determining their type, location, launch site, or trajectory. Earlier, it was reported that drone debris damaged cars and windows of a house in Dzerzhinsk. It was also revealed that residents of the house affected by the drone attack in Kstovo were compensated 2.7 million rubles for the installation of new windows.
