Nizhny Novgorod residents spent 6,700 rubles a month on utility payments in 2025.

      On August 24, 2026, 09:50 Economy In 2025, the average family in the Nizhny Novgorod region spent 6,719.9 rubles monthly on housing and communal services, as well as fuel for heating and lighting their homes. This is evidenced by a ranking compiled by RIA Novosti. These expenses accounted for 9.6% of all consumer spending by families. Compared to the previous year, this figure increased by 0.3 percentage points. In the ranking of Russian regions by the share of household spending on communal services, the Nizhny Novgorod region ranked 54th. On average, families in Russia spent 9.3% of their consumer expenses on housing and communal services in 2025. In monetary terms, these monthly expenses amounted to 6,713 rubles. The lowest figure among Russian regions was recorded in Dagestan at 5%. Also among the leaders were the Astrakhan region with a figure of 5.9% and Ingushetia, where 6.1% of consumer expenses were allocated to housing and communal services. The highest burden on family budgets was noted in the Murmansk region at 14.2%. Next were the Novgorod region with a share of 13.5% and the Magadan region, where the figure was 13.3%. In terms of total expenses, the lowest figures were recorded in Chuvashia at 3,885.2 rubles per month, Bryansk (3,899 rubles), and Astrakhan (4,080.5 rubles) regions. The highest cost of housing and communal services was noted in YNAO, where families spent an average of 13,904.6 rubles per month. Following were the Murmansk region with 13,030.3 rubles and the Magadan region with 12,915.3 rubles.
