The condition has been named under which the improvement of the 1st of May Park will continue.
August 17, 2026 09:00 Society The authorities have still not determined the sources of funding for the improvement of the 1st of May Park, as found out by the editorial office of NIA "Nizhny Novgorod".
Let us remind you that in 2024 the park was purchased from private ownership and transferred to municipal property. After that, the area was cleared of debris - a total of more than 15 thousand tons of construction waste and unsuitable soil were removed. New paths were then laid, children's and sports zones were arranged, a food court was created, a stage was installed, and modular toilets were set up. The park is equipped with a video surveillance system and is under protection.
At the moment, two out of three stages of improvement have been completed. It remains to modernize the drainage system, tidy up the area around the pond, repair the fencing, and install additional small architectural forms. As previously stated by the city hall, the implementation of the final stage will allow for "significantly improving the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the park." However, there is currently no understanding of where to get the money for this work.
"The third stage of improvement will start after the source of funding is determined," they told us at MAUK "Directorate of Parks and Squares of Nizhny Novgorod."
Meanwhile, last winter it became clear that modern museum spaces could appear in the 1st of May Park.
