      The Tver Court of Moscow sentenced former co-owner and ex-CEO of the "TNS Energy" holding, Dmitry Arjanov, to 18 years in a strict regime colony for embezzling nearly 15 billion rubles from network companies, TASS reports, citing a participant in the proceedings. According to the agency's interlocutor, the punishment was assigned by partially combining sentences. In addition to imprisonment, the court imposed a fine of 850 million rubles on Arjanov and prohibited him from holding managerial positions in commercial organizations. Arjanov was found guilty under part 3 of article 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "organization of a criminal community" and part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "fraud on a particularly large scale." The sentence has not yet entered into legal force and can be appealed. The court established that top managers of "TNS Energy" and the company "TNS Energy Nizhny Novgorod" from the end of summer 2011 to autumn 2020 entered into a criminal conspiracy and embezzled almost 15 billion rubles from PJSC "MRSK Center" and PJSC "MRSK Center and Volga Region." According to the investigation, the defendants received money from electricity consumers and transferred it to the accounts of affiliated companies in Cyprus, bypassing the supplier. Arjanov was detained in the autumn of 2020. At that time, the leaders of the "TNS Energy" group were also arrested. The criminal case has been considered in the Tver District Court of Moscow since the end of 2023. All defendants deny involvement in the embezzlement. The sentences for other defendants in the case, including the former executive director of "TNS Energy Nizhny Novgorod," Boris Shchurov, as well as top managers of the holding, Sergey and Sofia Afanasyev, will be announced later. Previously, the prosecution requested 17 and 16 years of imprisonment for them.

      Earlier, one of the defendants had already been convicted in a special manner and received six years in a strict regime colony a year ago. Additionally, Dmitry Arjanov's property in Nizhny Novgorod has been put up for sale several times.
