Nizhny Novgorod residents will be able to board two more trains using biometrics starting from August 18.

      On August 14, 2026, 18:19 Society Starting August 18, biometric boarding for trains will be available on two more routes from Nizhny Novgorod - to Kirov and Ivanovo. This is reported by RIA Novosti, citing the office of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko. Recall that since April, biometrics have already been operational on the Moscow - Nizhny Novgorod route. Passengers will be able to register their biometric data at the Nizhny Novgorod train station. The service is technically ready for launch. To use this boarding method, passengers must pre-authorize in the Unified Biometric System and consent to data processing. During boarding, the conductor will confirm the identity using a special portable device. Passengers will also be able to choose their method of identity confirmation - by passport or biometrics.
