The hunting of beavers, wild boars, and foxes has been allowed in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

The decisions were made to regulate the population of game resources, as well as to prevent the spread of rabies and African swine fever. The relevant orders from the regional ministry of natural resources have been published on the official legal information portal. Hunting is permitted from August 7 to September 5. In the Bogorodsky district, due to an outbreak of rabies, it was decided to remove 10 foxes. A quarantine was previously imposed in the village of Burtsovo. Hunting is allowed in the publicly accessible hunting grounds of the district. Another 10 foxes are permitted to be hunted in the territory of the MBU "Kstovo Hunting Economy." The order states that this is necessary for the prevention of diseases in game resources, as well as for the protection of human health, wildlife, and habitat. Here, hunting is allowed from August 8 to September 6. The region has also allowed the hunting of 13 wild boars in the hunting grounds of the Bolshie Boldino, Pochinkovsky, Lukoyanovsky, and Gaginsky districts, as well as the Pochinkovsky district society of hunters and fishermen. This measure is aimed at preventing the spread of African swine fever. Previously, infected animals were identified in the Bolshie Boldino and Koverninsky districts, after which a quarantine was imposed there. Additionally, in the Kstovo district, six European beavers can be hunted in the territory of the "Kstovo Hunting Economy." The same number is allowed to be removed in the hunting grounds of the GBU NO "State Experimental Hunting Economy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region" in the Gorodetsky district.
