In Nizhny Novgorod, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia have been awarded the title of "Honored Firefighter."

      In the reception hall for official delegations of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, a solemn ceremony for the awarding of honorary titles took place. Awards — badges, diplomas, and certificates — were presented to 45 residents of Nizhny Novgorod representing nine socially significant professions. The decision to award was made by the deputies of the City Duma on June 24 of this year. The ceremony was conducted by the chairman of the City Duma, Evgeny Chintsov, and the mayor of Nizhny Novgorod, Yuri Shalabaev. The event was part of the large-scale celebration of the 805th anniversary of the city's founding. Among the awardees were employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, who received the honorary title of "Honored Firefighter of the City of Nizhny Novgorod." This municipal award is the highest form of recognition for merits to the city for active employees and veterans of the fire service. It is awarded for many years of impeccable service, personal courage shown in emergency situations, and contributions to ensuring the fire safety of residents. The following were awarded badges: Mikhail Gvozdkov - former head of the 5th fire station of Nizhny Novgorod; Mikhail Loktev - commander of the 9th fire and rescue unit of Nizhny Novgorod; Dmitry Panfilov - senior instructor-driver of the duty shift of the specialized fire and rescue unit of Nizhny Novgorod.
