Nizhny Novgorod's "Torpedo" suffered a heavy defeat to "Dynamo" in the first match of the preseason.

      On August 14, 2026, at 15:50 Sports "Torpedo" suffered a heavy defeat to Moscow's "Dynamo" in the first preseason friendly match. The game at the KRK "Nagorny" ended with a score of 5:2 in favor of the Muscovites.

      The Nizhny Novgorod team took to the ice with an experimental lineup, primarily consisting of newcomers and young hockey players. "Dynamo" fielded a lineup closer to their main team. In particular, former "Torpedo" forward Maxim Letunov played at center on the first line.

      The captain's armband in this match was worn by Andrey Belevich. The upcoming season will be his eighth with the Nizhny Novgorod team.

      Also, in the friendly match, 17-year-old forward Sergey Skvortsov made his debut for the "autozavodtsy." However, he did not register any scoring actions.

      The new preseason uniform of "Torpedo" also deserves special attention. The team took to the ice in an unusual bright orange outfit.

      The scoring was opened in the seventh minute by newcomer Danil Seroukh. Last season, the forward played for "Sochi" and scored a pentatrick against Moscow's "Dynamo," marking the second in KHL history.

      In the second period, "Torpedo" initially held out while short-handed, but then the Muscovites equalized. Another power play for "Dynamo" resulted in a goal, and by the middle of the period, the score was 2:1. Magomed Sharakanov scored a double.

      After the second conceded goal, Dmitry Shugaev was replaced in goal by Dmitry Dagestansky. But this did not help stop the capital team. Soon, Nikita Tertyshny scored the third goal for "Dynamo," sending a greeting to his former team.

      In the final period, the Muscovites extended their lead to three goals. A goal by Dmitry Breus did not help turn the tide of the game: in the 59th minute, "Dynamo" scored again into the empty net, putting an end to the match—5:2. The teams did not conduct shootouts.

      The next friendly match for "Torpedo" will be on August 18 in Yaroslavl against "Lokomotiv."
