The former deputy from Nizhny Novgorod was sentenced to 280 hours of mandatory work.

      On August 11, 2026, at 17:33, Incidents: Former Deputy Chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod Legislative Assembly Mikhail Dikin was sentenced to 280 hours of community service for making threats to kill. This was reported by the press service of the regional court.

      It was established that on November 10, 2024, near the "Sky" shopping center, during a verbal conflict, Dikin threatened a man with a gas pistol and struck him several times in the chest, as well as made threats to kill. Dikin did not admit his guilt.

      The former deputy had repeatedly been the initiator of road conflicts. In October 2023, in Lyadov Square, he cut off a "Zhiguli" and during the argument shot the driver in the face with a gas pistol. In court, he claimed he acted in self-defense; however, the jury found him guilty of hooliganism with the use of a weapon.

      In the fall of 2024, the former parliamentarian also found himself at the center of a scandal. He blocked a bus's path, believing that he was not given way. Dikin himself claimed he was "saving" the passengers, as he believed the driver was drunk. Later, the court imposed a fine on him.

      Another conflict occurred in early March 2026. Dikin began to overtake a car and sharply changed lanes in front of it, then completely blocked the roadway. This was his reaction to what he allegedly perceived as not being given way.

      Additionally, in 2006, Mikhail Dikin was convicted for organizing an assassination attempt on former mayor Oleg Sorokin. He spent ten years in prison and was released on parole in July 2016.
