Yuri Shalabaev, along with the Sormovites, opened a new landscaped area.

      The head of Nizhny Novgorod, Yuri Shalabaev, reported in his MAX channel that he, along with residents of the Sormovo district, opened a new public space near the residential complex "Korabli" covering more than 26,000 m2. The new green area was landscaped as part of the project "Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment" under the national project "Infrastructure for Life." Shalabaev personally monitored the work at various stages of construction. The area features sports zones – table tennis tables with stands, a bike path, a hockey box (or for football in the summer), as well as a large children's playground styled to match the theme of the residential complex "Korabli," swings, benches, new lighting, and trees were planted. The new space is connected by bike paths and pedestrian routes to other public areas – squares on Korableystroiteley Avenue, 70 Years of October, and Svetloyarsky Park. According to Yuri Shalabaev, more than 8,000 people live in the residential complex "Korabli," mainly young people and families with children. "This area is the result of direct dialogue with residents. We didn't just improve a wasteland; we created a space that takes into account the wishes of the Sormovo residents," noted the city head. Shalabaev also mentioned that under the national project, the improvement of six more public spaces is underway – in the square on Cosmonaut Komarov Street in the Lenin district, in the 777th anniversary park of Nizhny Novgorod in the Avtozavodsky district, and in four areas in Kstovo. Local residents highly appreciated the updated area. For instance, resident Irina Fedoseeva noted that in the evening, the children's playground is "packed": children play football, basketball, table tennis, and the entertainment complex shaped like a ship is particularly popular. "Just a few years ago, there was nothing here, and today it is a modern microdistrict where more than 8,000 people live. I am sure this green area will rightfully become the most beloved place for recreation for the residents!" emphasized the first deputy chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma, Evgeny Kostin.
