"Protected quarters" will join the City Day.

      On August 15-16, the "Protected Quarters" of the ANO "ASIRIS" (Agency for the Preservation and Development of Historical Environment Objects of the Nizhny Novgorod Region) invite Nizhny Novgorod residents and city guests to special festive events in honor of City Day, which will take place in the quarter of the Church of the Three Saints. This year, the program will transport guests back to the summer of 1911. Wooden houses and their unusual inhabitants, estate gardens, tea parties on porches, and leisurely walks through shady streets—this was the Three Saints Quarter at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. "As is tradition, on City Day we invite everyone to visit one of the few remaining islands of pre-revolutionary architecture in the center of Nizhny— the quarter of the Church of the Three Saints. We have prepared a large program that will help immerse you in the atmosphere of the past. Our focus is on the city at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries with its picturesque streets, low houses, quiet courtyards, and city gardens. We will encounter the everyday life that was relevant for the townspeople over a century ago, but still retains its charm here today, in the quarter of the Church of the Three Saints," noted the director of ANO "ASIRIS," Ekaterina Kryunas. Over the course of two days, guests will enjoy a rich program. Admission to many events is free. Thus, on August 15 and 16 from 12:00 to 18:00, you can visit the exhibition "18-96" for free at the cultural center "Korolenko, 18." On August 16 at 11:00 and 13:00, free tours "The House of Avdotya Skvortsova: Secrets Behind the Facade" will take place here. On the same day from 10:30 to 12:00, estate games will be organized in the Dreamers' Garden: croquet, serso, and other entertainments popular among townspeople a century ago. In the Secret Garden from 12:00 to 14:00, there will be a lecture on aristocratic decor and a master class on creating boutonnieres. On August 15 at 18:30, there will be a free jazz concert in the Dreamers' Garden. For those who want to delve deeper into the era, tours and gastronomic programs in historical interiors are prepared: "First Glance," "Visiting Shchulukhina," "Night Guests" with lanterns in the house of Praskovya Shchulukhina, "Details of the Quarter" with art historian Anton Martsev, "Breakfast in the Estate," and "Secrets of Estate Cuisine" in the Gusev's house, "Life and Coffee in Nizhny" and "Tea Ceremonies."
