More than 1,600 IVF procedures have been performed in the Nizhny Novgorod region since the beginning of the year.

      August 11, 2026 12:08 Society Since the beginning of 2026, 1,634 procedures for in vitro fertilization have been conducted in the Nizhny Novgorod region. A total of 3,121 free quotas for IVF have been allocated to the region for this year, as reported by the regional compulsory health insurance fund. More than 428 million rubles have been allocated for the procedures within the mandatory health insurance system. Almost 170 million rubles of this amount comes from the regional budget. The cycles of IVF, necessary medications, and consultations with specialists are covered by compulsory health insurance funds. Funding also extends to cryopreservation and subsequent embryo transfer. However, patients pay for their storage independently. Residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region can undergo IVF for free if they have medical indications at nine medical organizations. Clinics for the procedure are chosen by Nizhny Novgorod residents themselves. Earlier, Nizhny Novgorod residents were informed about which tests can be taken for free before IVF.
