The official explained that this year, due to budget deficits, it was decided to focus on work in existing buildings, although the construction of new dormitories is also not stopping. Since Nizhny Novgorod universities are federal institutions, the work is financed from the state treasury, but the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region helps educational organizations attract funds every year: it writes letters of support and advocates for their interests in ministries. The volume of housing for students is expanding also due to the IT campus "Neimark," which can currently accommodate 1,500 people. In the future, the number of places is planned to be doubled. Accommodation in the campus is subsidized. It provides places for foreigners, out-of-town students, and talented students. Students from other universities who are studying under joint network programs can also live in the campus.
