Important for drivers: new traffic regulations on the Nizhny Novgorod - Kstovo highway

      The section of the road near the former traffic police post has long been recognized as hazardous. Accidents occur regularly here, and one of the main reasons is U-turns and left turns in dense traffic at high speeds. To save lives and health, specialists modeled the traffic flows and found the only effective solution: to separate opposing directions with a median barrier and completely prohibit left turns and U-turns on this stretch. The decision has been approved by the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate and has come into effect. Now, U-turns can only be made in specially designated areas: If you are driving from Nizhny Novgorod towards Kstovo, the first safe U-turn back to Nizhny is organized after the overpass near the Starokstovsky cemetery. If you are driving from Kstovo towards Nizhny, you can turn around at the interchange near the village of Opalikh.
