The Germans visited Nizhny Novgorod as part of the "Friendship Global" car rally.

      On August 3, 2026, at 18:36, Society 15 participants of the eighth car rally organized by the German public organization "Friendship Global" visited Nizhny Novgorod. The event, aimed at developing people's diplomacy, allowed guests to get acquainted with the rich history and culture of the city. The Minister of International and Interregional Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Olga Guseva, emphasized the importance of such initiatives. "The car rally is a vivid example of people's diplomacy. It clearly demonstrates how personal meetings and direct interaction between people can overcome the barriers of official policy and create bridges of mutual understanding. Such initiatives show that true connections are formed not at the level of states, but in the heart of each person who is ready for dialogue and open to discovering another culture," noted Olga Guseva.

      The cultural program included excursions covering the city's iconic places: Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, Switzerland Park, Nizhny Novgorod Fair, the Arrow, and the Fedorovsky Embankment. "I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the honor of being here today, I speak on behalf of our entire group. We have been to Nizhny Novgorod multiple times, and I can say that your city is one of those rare places we visit annually. The reason is simple: we can always count on hospitality and support here. Nizhny Novgorod is always reliable. And what is especially valuable is that it is here that we manage to talk best with the Nizhny Novgorod residents. We always feel like truly welcome guests here," said project leader Reinhard Gross. The guests also visited the "Fragile Dreams" doll gallery, which houses the world's largest collection of works by German master Hildegard Günzel, and the exhibition "Heavenly Nizhny. Saints and Shrines of Nizhny Novgorod Land" at the Manege, strolling through the colorful Bolshaya Pokrovskaya and Rozhdestvenskaya streets. In addition, German citizens honored the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War by laying flowers at the Eternal Flame. "Nizhny Novgorod has beautiful, impressive architecture, and I am pleased to see how it is carefully preserved. I also managed to talk to the Nizhny Novgorod residents, very friendly and pleasant people," said one of the participants of the car rally.
