The pharmacy basket has decreased in price by 0.5% in Nizhny Novgorod.

      August 4, 2026 12:09 Economy Nizhny Novgorod ranked fifth among 28 Russian cities in terms of the cost of a typical pharmacy basket. At the same time, it became more affordable in July: the average price of a set of ten categories of medicines decreased by 0.5% and amounted to 7278.26 rubles. This is stated in the study "Megapteka.ru Index." Over the month, pharmacy sales in the city grew by about 6%. The highest demand growth was recorded for endocrine drugs - plus 32%, as well as for painkillers - by 20%. At the same time, sales of contraceptives decreased by 8%, and allergy medications - by 6%. Overall, the pharmacy market in the country showed positive dynamics in July: sales in monetary terms for ten product groups increased by about 10%. At the same time, the average cost of the pharmacy basket across 28 cities decreased by about 1%, to 6976 rubles. It was most expensive for residents of Omsk and St. Petersburg - 7364 rubles each. In Voronezh, it cost 7292 rubles, in Kaliningrad - 7290 rubles. The most affordable prices were recorded in Stavropol - 6622 rubles, Izhevsk - 6724 rubles, and Tver - 6737 rubles.
