      Three non-residential buildings in the historical center of Nizhny Novgorod are planned to be demolished. The buildings in question are located on the Upper Volga Embankment at the addresses: No. 20, No. 21/22 letter K, and No. 21/22 letter V. The corresponding conclusion is contained in the act of the state historical and cultural expertise published on the website of the State Protection of Cultural Heritage Objects Administration (UGOOCKN) of the Nizhny Novgorod region. The document was prepared by the highest category restoration engineer Galina Smirnova at the request of LLC "SMART Engineering." The main task of the expertise was to assess how the demolition of the buildings could affect the nearby cultural heritage sites - the "House of I.M. Gribkov" and the ensemble "Red Cross Hospital."

      As a result of the study, the expert concluded that the demolition would not have a negative impact on the historical buildings. The document notes that the planned work complies with the requirements of legislation in the field of cultural heritage protection and does not pose a threat to their preservation.

      The project provides for several methods of demolition: manual disassembly of structures, removal of floor slabs using a crane, as well as mechanized demolition using an excavator. At the same time, the buildings designated for demolition do not have the status of cultural heritage objects and are not considered historically valuable urban-forming objects. Thus, house No. 20 is a two-story brick non-residential building built in 1917. Building No. 21/22 letter K is a two-story non-residential structure with a basement, erected in 1965. Object No. 21/22 letter V consists of several buildings constructed at different times. The expertise was conducted as part of the preparation of documentation to ensure the preservation of adjacent architectural monuments during the demolition work. As a result, the expert deemed it possible to carry out the demolition while adhering to the project-provided measures for the protection of cultural heritage objects.

      Earlier, it was reported that the House of Academics Khariton and Negin in Sarov was included in the register of regional significance monuments.
