      Rospotrebnadzor has named safe bodies of water for swimming in the Nizhny Novgorod region – according to laboratory studies as of July 24, 2026, the water meets sanitary and hygienic requirements only at a few urban bodies of water. This was reported by the agency's press service.

      The list includes the lakes of the Culture and Recreation Park of the first and second stages in the Avtozavodsky district, both beaches of the Silicate Lake in the Leninsky district, the Sorting Lake in the Kanavinsky district, as well as the Pestichnoye and Lunskoe lakes in the Sormovsky district.

      In addition, the "408 km" pond and the Tesh River in Arzamas, the Upper Lake in Semyonov, the lake at the Steep Mountain in Bogorodsk, the Holy Lake in the Pushkino settlement, the Yurasovskoye Lake in Bor, and all three beaches of the Upper Pond in Vyksa have also been recognized as safe for swimming. The agency reminded that before going to the beach, it is advisable to check the current information about the condition of the body of water on the official website of Rospotrebnadzor. Swimming is recommended only in equipped places, do not drink water from bodies of water, take a shower after resting, and follow safety rules. Water quality control in the region continues.
