      On July 25, 2026, at 17:35, Society The Nizhny Novgorod region ranked fourth in Russia in terms of the volume of state purchases of botulinum toxin since the beginning of 2026. The region allocated 95 million rubles for these purposes, increasing purchases by 150% compared to the same period last year.

      As reported by the editor-in-chief of MIA "Stationary Press," Alexey Nikonov, citing analysts from the "Cursor" agency, 8,900 vials of the drug have been delivered to medical institutions in the region. This is 146% more than the previous year.

      It should be noted that botulinum toxin is not purchased for cosmetic procedures. The drug is used in medical practice for the rehabilitation of patients after strokes, injuries, and surgeries.

      "Botulinum toxins are actively used to treat migraines, torticollis, the consequences of severe neurological conditions, as well as to relieve tension in scar tissue and improve its quality," said plastic surgeon Nadezhda Rozhdestvenskaya.

      According to the specialist, the high volumes of purchases indicate the development of neurology and reconstructive surgery in the region. Thanks to the widespread use of such drugs, doctors can more effectively assist patients with severe illnesses and the consequences of injuries.
