      Rospotrebnadzor named the safe bathing bodies of water in the Nizhny Novgorod region – according to laboratory studies as of July 24, 2026, the water meets sanitary and hygienic requirements only in a few urban bodies of water. This was reported by the press service of the agency.

      The list includes the lakes of the Culture and Recreation Park of the first and second stages in the Avtozavodsky district, both beaches of the Silicate Lake in the Leninsky district, the Sorting Lake in the Kanavinsky district, as well as the Pestichnoe and Lunskoe lakes in the Sormovsky district.

      In addition, the pond "408 km" and the Tesh River in Arzamas, the Upper Lake in Semyonov, the lake at Krutaya Gora in Bogorodsk, the Holy Lake in the village of Pushkino, the Yurasovskoye Lake in Bor, and all three beaches of the Upper Pond in Vyksa have also been recognized as safe for bathing. The agency reminded that before going to the beach, it is advisable to check the current information about the state of the water body on the official website of Rospotrebnadzor. It is recommended to swim only in equipped places, not to drink water from water bodies, to take a shower after recreation, and to follow safety rules. Water quality control in the region continues.
