"Call from the hospital": scammers have started to deceive the families of SVO fighters in a new way

      On July 24, 2026, at 11:00, Incidents: A criminal case has been initiated in the Bogorodsky district following an attempted fraud under the guise of hospital employees, as reported by the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. According to the police, a local resident received a call from unknown individuals who introduced themselves as employees of a hospital in one of the Russian cities. They attempted to convince the woman to transfer over 163,000 rubles allegedly to help her relative—a serviceman. The resident recognized the deception, ended the conversation, and did not transfer the money. A criminal case has been opened under the article on attempted fraud. The police are identifying those involved, and the investigation is ongoing. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded that during such calls, one should not disclose personal information or transfer money. In case of doubts, it is advisable to end the conversation and independently contact relatives or report to the police.
