Nizhny Novgorod's "Torpedo" has signed a new contract with Dmitry Breus.

Nizhny Novgorod's "Torpedo" has signed a new unilateral contract with defender Dmitry Breus. The agreement with the 22-year-old hockey player is valid until May 31, 2028, the club's press service reported.

Recall that Breus spent last season on loan at Astana's "Barys." The defender played 62 games for the team in the KHL.

As a result of the season, the player scored 10 points in the "goal+assist" system. Breus also represented the Kazakhstan national team at the World Championship, where he played five matches and scored two goals.

The defender has been part of the "Torpedo" system since the 2022/2023 season. In that season, as part of "Chaika," he became the winner of the MHL championship, and in 2024, he won bronze medals in the tournament.

Torpedo's General Director Evgeny Zabuga noted that Breus's move to "Barys" on loan was justified and helped the player gain the necessary experience and continue his development.

"We believe that he is highly motivated to have his best season with 'Torpedo,' taking another step in his professional development," Zabuga stated.

It should be noted that on August 1, the "autoworkers" will return from vacation and begin preseason training.

Earlier, the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, spoke about the main task of the hockey club "Torpedo" for the upcoming KHL season.
