A pier with three gangways is planned to be built in Dzerzhinsk.

      On July 15, 2026, at 17:30, the Society in Dzerzhinsk intends to develop regular river transport and create a full-fledged dock with three gangways. This was reported in his Max channel by the head of the city, Mikhail Klinkov.

      According to him, historically, Dzerzhinsk was an important hub for river passenger transport. The current task is not to limit to one-time trips, but to establish stable and direct communication, which will become the basis for tourism development.

      He noted that a new floating platform has already been installed. Its creation is the result of cooperation between the city authorities and entrepreneur Andrei Shkilev, who is involved in the development of the water area behind the Oka embankment.

      The business took on the manufacturing of the platform and the gangway. City services cleared the area in three weeks, equipped the descent to the boarding place, installed fences, and informational banners. In the near future, they will complete the installation of the platform's fencing and the safety net under the gangway.

      “The ‘Valdai’ made its first test trip and docked at our new floating platform,” noted the head of the city.

      Mikhail Klinkov added that soon ticket sales from Dzerzhinsk to Nizhny Novgorod will open on the company’s website “Vodoley,” and on weekends to Pavlov.

      In the future, the creation of a full-fledged dock with three gangways is planned - for both the “Valdais” and multi-deck cruise ships. Special attention will be paid to the water area near the “Oka” hotel, where the river station was previously located. This area is being returned under the control of the administration to use it exclusively for transport and tourist infrastructure.

      At the same time, landscaping will continue: reconstruction of the steps, asphalting of the area, and arrangement of parking.

      Earlier, the company “Vodoley” reported the cancellation of trips on the route Nizhny Novgorod - Dzerzhinsk - Nizhny Novgorod for technical reasons. The dates for the resumption of navigation and the opening of ticket sales have not yet been announced.
