The candidacy of the prosecutor of the Kursk region, Alexey Tsukanov, will be considered for the position of prosecutor of the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported on his channel in MAX by the head of the committee on constitutional legislation, Andrey Klishas. The candidacy of Tsukanov was submitted to the Federation Council by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and consultations on it will take place on July 16. Tsukanov has been working in the prosecutor's office since 1997. He has held positions as an investigator in the Lenin district prosecutor's office in Penza, prosecutor of the Maloserdobinsky district of the Penza region and the closed administrative-territorial formation of Zarechny, as well as deputy prosecutor of the Penza region. Since 2012, he has headed the department of the General Prosecutor's Office in the North Caucasus Federal District, and in 2017, he was appointed prosecutor of the Kursk region by presidential decree. He has been awarded the badge "Honorary Worker of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation" and the badge "For Impeccable Service."
