Nizhny Novgorod residents were promised the end of the fuel crisis in the summer.

July 10, 2026 11:03 Economy Fuel prices may return to normal levels as early as next month. This opinion was expressed at a press center by Vasily Koltashov, director of the Institute of New Society and head of the Center for Political Economic Research. The expert noted that over the past six months, gasoline prices have increased by 11.58%. According to him, the increase in fuel costs in the fall could lead to accelerated inflation. At the same time, he believes that the consequences of rising prices will be less noticeable in the summer due to the seasonal factor related to the harvest. Koltashov also emphasized that agriculture is not experiencing a shortage of diesel fuel. "Currently, there is only a shortage of high-quality gasoline. This situation will be resolved within a month through fuel purchases from abroad," he stated. Koltashov added that after the increase in fuel supply, the existing restrictions will be lifted. Recall that on July 6, a meeting of the operational headquarters on fuel supply issues for the Nizhny Novgorod region took place. A number of important decisions were made there. In particular, starting from July 9, the procedure for servicing at gas stations has changed. Now, on even dates, cars with license plates starting with an even number are refueled, while on odd dates, those starting with an odd number are refueled. The Nizhny Novgorod authorities also urged fuel companies to increase supplies to the region to stabilize the situation in the retail fuel market.
