100 kilos of live fish will be released into the Nizhny Novgorod fountain.

      The traditional Fisherman's Day (0+) will take place on July 12 in the Avtozavodsky Park. This is reported by MAUK "Directorate of Parks and Squares of Nizhny Novgorod."

      The festive program will unfold from 13:30 to 17:30. For the event, 100 kilograms of live carp and one sturgeon will be prepared, which will be released into the bowl of the central fountain.

      Participants will be able to compete for victory in several nominations: the largest catch by weight (1st, 2nd, and 3rd places), the first caught fish, the largest and smallest fish, caught sturgeon, the youngest fisherman, the luckiest fisherwoman, and also participate in the traditional "Madagascar-style fishing."

      The rules of participation remain the same. The caught fish must be registered with the volunteers. Trailing is prohibited, as well as the use of treble hooks and double hooks for catching fish. Landing nets may only be used for reeling in already caught fish.

      A separate program will be prepared for young guests of the event: children's fishing, a drawing contest on asphalt, and animation activities.
