Firefighters rescued a woman after she fell from the fifth floor in Dzerzhinsk.

      On July 8, 2026, at 13:12, incidents were reported in Dzerzhinsk where a woman fell from the fifth-floor window of a building on Lenin Avenue, according to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Nizhny Novgorod region. The impact with the ground was softened by the balcony roof on the third floor, where she fell, losing consciousness in the process.

      Witnesses immediately reported the incident by calling "112". A team from the fire and rescue service quickly arrived at the scene. According to the head of the rescue operation, commander of the 11th fire and rescue unit Anatoly Parkin, there were concerns about the injuries and the unstable condition of the victim.

      "The woman began to regain consciousness and could fall to the ground at any moment," he noted.

      Using an aerial ladder, a spinal board was lifted to the narrow platform of the balcony roof. Rescuers examined the victim, secured her with a cervical collar, and then lowered her to the ground, where she was handed over to medical personnel. The fire service emphasizes that the coordinated work of the team and the prompt call from witnesses played a crucial role, allowing precious time to be gained and saving the victim's life.
