The bridge over the Pochainsky ravine has begun construction in Nizhny Novgorod.

Blogger Olga Kurenkova clarified that the residents of Nizhny Novgorod have been living without the Student Bridge, which connected Bolshaya Pokrovskaya and Ilyinskaya streets, for more than two years, and it was later deemed unsafe and dismantled.

      The bridge does not yet look ready for opening, but at least something is starting to take shape, noted the Nizhny Novgorod resident.

      Let us remind you that the contract for the implementation of the large-scale project to create a terraced park in the Pochainsky ravine was signed in the fall of 2022. Initially, the cost of the work was estimated at almost three billion rubles, and work began at the end of 2023. As part of the project, the creation of a multi-level public space with an amphitheater, recreation areas, a skate park, cycling and pedestrian routes, observation platforms, and water features is planned.

      The construction was originally scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025, but the deadlines have been postponed. The completion of the work is now scheduled for November 2026, and the estimated cost of the project has increased to 4.5 billion. Additionally, in March, 1.1 billion rubles were allocated for the reconstruction of the collector and the engineering protection of the slopes.

      Currently, the technical readiness of the terraced park is 65%. In the near future, the contractor is expected to carry out landscaping, conduct greening, and install small architectural forms.
