The Investigative Committee began an inspection after the cable car cabins were stopped in Nizhny Novgorod.

      On July 6, 2026, at 09:19, Incidents In Nizhny Novgorod, a procedural check has been organized following an incident that occurred on the cable car on July 5. This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      Recall that the cable car's operation was halted due to bad weather and strong winds. Several cabins that were on the line at that moment were suspended over the river. After some time, rescuers arrived at the scene, and people were evacuated.

      A check has been initiated regarding this incident under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - "provision of services that do not meet the safety requirements for the life and health of consumers."

      Currently, a set of measures is being carried out to establish all the circumstances of the incident. Based on the results of the check, a procedural decision will be made.

      The Prosecutor's Office of the Nizhny Novgorod region is also monitoring the investigation into the causes of the incident and the progress of the check being conducted by the investigative authorities.
