A hail of unprecedented size fell in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On July 5, 2026, at 17:42 Society On July 5, colossal hail fell in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Residents of the village of Zhaisk in the Vachsky district shared photos with the website pravda-nn.ru, showing ice chunks larger than a chicken egg. The storm hit the settlement around 15:45. In addition to the enormous hail, there was heavy rain and gusty winds in the village. Residents of Bor also reported large hailstones.
