The consequences of hurricane winds are being eliminated in the Arzamas district.

      On July 5, 2026, at 09:19, Society reported that on July 4, the Arzamas district was hit by a natural disaster: hurricane winds led to a series of emergencies related to fallen trees, power line breaks, and roof damage in private homes. The mayor of Arzamas, Alexander Shcholokov, shared on his social media that to eliminate the consequences of the storm front, which caused power supply disruptions, emergency crews from Perevoz, Shatki, and Uren arrived quickly to assist the Arzamas Electric Network teams, with more reinforcements expected.

      "They are working. They are addressing issues from larger to smaller. First, they are resolving problems with the 10 kV lines. Then they will deal with the 0.4 kV requests (if you see a broken wire near a house, it is most likely that one). The 10 kV lines supply entire settlements, while the 0.4 kV lines supply specific streets and houses," the mayor shared operational information.

      By nightfall, electricity supply was restored to the settlements of Berezovka, Shershtino, Kozhino, Chuvarleika, and partially in Krasnoe, Kovaks, Nikolsk, and Pyavochnoe. By the morning of July 5, energy workers managed to restore all high-voltage lines, supplying all settlements. "This allows us to work on the 0.4 kV lines. They are proceeding, breaking down into directions, by street. Then by individual requests," the mayor reported. The most complicated situation is in Stepanovo, where several crews are being gathered, Shcholokov specified.
