A criminal case was initiated after the death of a girl due to the collapse of a wall near Arzamas.

      On July 4, 2026, at 20:20, Incidents: A criminal case has been initiated following the death of a five-year-old girl due to the collapse of a wall of a private house under construction in the working settlement of Vyyezdnoye in the Arzamas district. This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      According to the investigation, on the afternoon of July 4, a wall of the under-construction property collapsed in Vyyezdnoye. As a result, the five-year-old girl sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

      Investigators have opened a criminal case under Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Causing death by negligence." Currently, investigators and forensic experts continue to work at the scene. They are examining the site of the tragedy, questioning witnesses, and appointing necessary examinations. The investigation is under the control of the leadership of the regional Investigative Committee.

      The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia clarified that after the incident, fire and rescue units conducted emergency rescue operations. Specialists dismantled the structures of the under-construction house to find the deceased child.

      The Prosecutor's Office of the Nizhny Novgorod region has also taken control of clarifying all the circumstances of the tragedy. The city prosecutor of Arzamas, Andrey Mokhrov, visited the scene of the incident.
