      On July 4, 2026, at 19:56, Incidents: A girl died during hurricane winds in the working settlement of Vyyezdnoye in the Arzamas district. This was reported by the mayor of Arzamas, Alexander Shchelokov. According to him, construction structures collapsed onto the roof of a residential building, resulting in fatal injuries to the child. The city head expressed condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased.

      The strong winds also led to numerous consequences in Arzamas itself and in the surrounding settlements. Mass power outages were recorded due to fallen trees. Additionally, in several villages, the roofs of private houses were damaged.

      Currently, teams from the Arzamas Electric Network and specialists from neighboring districts are preparing to eliminate the aftermath. According to the mayor, it is already clear that additional forces will be needed for recovery work.

      Recall that residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region were previously warned about worsening weather on July 4. Heavy rains and downpours are expected in places, with hail locally. Wind gusts could reach 18-23 m/s. According to forecasts, the bad weather will persist until the end of the day and into the night of July 5.
