Traffic on the western bypass of Arzamas is open according to a temporary scheme.

On July 3, 2026, at 16:54, Society In the Nizhny Novgorod region, a working traffic movement was opened on the section of the new road "Vyizdnoe - Arzamas-1 railway station." This was reported by the GUAAD of the Nizhny Novgorod region. A segment of 4.6 km is available for motorists - from the roundabout near the working settlement of Vyizdnoe (on the Vladimir - Murom - Arzamas highway) to the road Arzamas-1 - Maryevka - Kovaksa - Pyavochnoe. The new route allows drivers to bypass the city without entering its boundaries. Traffic is organized according to a temporary scheme. A speed limit of up to 40 km/h is in effect on the open section, and drivers are asked to comply with the requirements of road signs. The project is being created as part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life" and the development of the pilgrimage-tourism cluster "Arzamas - Diveevo - Sarov." The total length of the road will be 5.183 km. Of these, 2.798 km will run outside populated areas - this is a category III road with two lanes of 3.5 m each, shoulders of 2.5 m, and a design speed of up to 100 km/h. Another 2.385 km are located within the city limits: here, two traffic lanes, sidewalks 2-2.25 m wide, and a design speed of up to 50 km/h are planned. Construction is ongoing. Plans include the completion of a tunnel-type overpass under the railway embankment and a section of road 583 meters long leading to the intersection of Vederinikova and Stationnaya streets. Since 2019, more than 6.6 thousand km of roads have been repaired in the Nizhny Novgorod region under the national project "Infrastructure for Life" (until 2025 - "Safe and Quality Roads"), and about 140 km of regional highways have been built and reconstructed. In 2025, 761 km of the road network were brought to regulatory condition against a plan of 626 km. It was previously reported that in 2026, more than 600 kilometers of roads would be updated under the national project. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
