      On July 3, 2026, at 16:36, Incidents: In Nizhny Novgorod, a 67-year-old associate professor from one of the institutes has been recharged with illegal arms trafficking. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Nizhny Novgorod region. During a search of the man's apartment, police discovered cartridges, gunpowder, caps, and an object resembling an automatic weapon. More than 580 cartridges of various calibers, three boxes and a jar labeled "Gunpowder," over 200 knives, three sabers, a hatchet, an awl, a brass knuckle, a sword, as well as parts of firearms, shells, and caps were seized. All of them have been sent for examination. A criminal case has been initiated against the associate professor under part 1 of article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The investigation is ongoing. According to the police, he had previously been held criminally liable for a similar crime.
