Nizhny Novgorod residents were reminded of the rules of conduct when encountering drones.
On July 2, 2026, 19:04 Society Residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region were reminded of the rules of conduct when discovering drones amid the increased attacks by UAVs. The press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the region reported on safety measures.
When a drone is detected, one should not remain in its direct line of sight—it's necessary to take cover or move to a safe distance as quickly as possible. Attempting to shoot down the device with stones, sticks, or other improvised means is prohibited—it is dangerous and may lead to legal consequences.
It is also not recommended to use mobile phones, radios, GPS navigators, and other electronic devices near the drone, as this may affect its operation and lead to unpredictable consequences. Do not touch the wreckage of a downed drone—it may pose a threat to life and health.
Upon discovering a UAV, it is necessary to immediately report it by calling 112 while staying at a safe distance. The dispatcher should be informed of the exact time and location, the number of observed devices, and whether they were moving together or separately.
After the call, it is important to wait for the arrival of law enforcement and provide them with all available information. If photos or videos of the drone were taken, the materials should be handed over to the police. Publishing such recordings on social networks and the internet is prohibited.
