The Nizhny Novgorod Ministry of Transport will check bus No. 118 after the fare increase.

      On July 2, 2026, at 16:27 Society The Ministry of Transport and Automobile Roads of the Nizhny Novgorod Region initiated an inspection of bus route No. 118 following passenger complaints about the increase in fare to 50 rubles. This was reported by pravda-nn.ru. Previously, residents of Nizhny Novgorod reported that the fare had increased on two routes connecting Nizhny Novgorod and Kstovo — No. 118 and No. 225. The fare increase caused dissatisfaction among passengers. On social media, users noted that after Kstovo was included in the composition of Nizhny Novgorod, the fare within the city turned out to be more expensive than in the regional center. The ministry explained that route No. 225 operates under an unregulated tariff, so the carrier has the right to set the fare independently — it is sufficient to notify about this in the established manner. At the same time, route No. 118 is among the regulated ones. According to the Ministry of Transport, the carrier did not have the right to raise the ticket price. In this regard, an inspection has been initiated against it by the regional government. Recall that from July 1, only cashless payment for travel is in effect on public transport in Nizhny Novgorod.
