VTB: in the first half of the year, cash loan sales in Russia increased by 68%
July 1, 2026 13:50 Economy According to VTB's estimates, in the first half of the year, the volume of consumer loans issued in Russia exceeded 2.4 trillion rubles, of which 470 billion were issued in June. This is 68% more than in the first half of last year. VTB's issuances for the half-year will exceed 275 billion rubles, which is twice the result of the first half of last year. The bank's market share in consumer lending has increased by 70% since the beginning of the year. "The positive dynamics in the cash loan segment are related to a more active reduction in interest rates compared to other products. We also see a growing interest in refinancing: current conditions make refinancing economically justified for borrowers. This trend will continue in the second half of the year," commented Alexey Okhorzin, Senior Vice President and Head of the Retail Business Products Department at VTB. *VTB's forecast is based on data from the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and Frank RG, excluding POS lending.
