      The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Nizhny Novgorod region warns residents of the region about dangerous weather in the coming hours. Details were reported by the press service of the agency.

      In the Nizhny Novgorod region and in Nizhny Novgorod, heavy rains and downpours are expected in places over the next 1–3 hours. Precipitation will persist until the evening. As a result, the likelihood of emergencies due to local flooding increases. Low-lying areas, roads, and low-water bridges, as well as power line supports, communication lines, and agricultural land may be affected. An increase in the number of traffic accidents, difficulties in the operation of all types of transport, and possible disruptions in the housing and utilities system are expected. Landslides and slope washouts are not excluded. It is recommended to reduce speed on the road: visibility is deteriorating, shoulders and dirt roads are softening and washing away, and the surface is becoming slippery, which increases the risk of skidding and loss of control.
