The court ordered the owner to demolish the unauthorized construction in the historic center of Nizhny Novgorod.

On June 30, 2026, at 17:40, the Nizhny Novgorod District Court granted the city's administration's lawsuit against a city resident for the demolition of an unauthorized construction in the Pechery settlement. This was reported by the press service of the regional court.

The court established that the defendant erected a one-story residential building on a land plot located within the boundaries of the historical area "Old Nizhny Novgorod." Moreover, no construction permit or approval of the project documentation from the State Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites Administration of the Nizhny Novgorod Region was obtained.

According to the conclusion of the construction and technical expertise, the building was placed in violation of urban planning norms. The allowable percentage of land development was exceeded, setbacks from its boundaries were violated, and the distance to the neighboring house was less than three meters. Experts indicated that such violations pose a threat to the life and health of citizens in the event of a fire.

The court ordered the owner to demolish the unauthorized construction within three months. The decision has not yet entered into legal force.

It was previously reported that in the Kanavinsky district, an object of unauthorized construction will be demolished by court order. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
